Poldark analysis

The clip creates intrigue and excitement for the audience by having tense music play at the start. This suggests that danger or harm is coming. This creates intrigue because you want to know what is going to happen to the men. Music is also used to create excitement. When the fighting starts the music becomes faster and more tense. It creates intrigue when Poldark gets hit and we see him have a flashback. We want to know who the girl is and what's happened between them. The genre is a historical action drama. we can tell this because of the costumes they wear, the guns, how they speak and the horses being used. We know it's action because of the setting and the fighting and it's set in a war.  A typical convention of tv drama is conflict. There is conflict in the clip when they are fighting. And the setting is war which is also a conflict. Three potential audiences for this show would be people who like history and historical battles, people who like the acto...

regulation of the media

1. Media regulation is important because it stops organisations/businesses from going to far. such as hacking phones, invading privacy etc. Without media regulation lies can be spread, lives can be ruined and peoples careers can be ended. 2.In the docudrama 'The Lost Honour Of Christopher Jeffries' newspaper regulation was shown as ineffective. This is because of how much information they got and how deep they went into his life. When the lawyers are going around asking people from Christopher's life they all say how kind and thoughtful he is. Whereas the newspapers portrayed him as a peeping tom and a unusual person. 3. In IPSO's editors code of  practice clause 1iii it says ' The Press, while free to be partisan they must distinguish clearly  between comment, conjecture and fact'. This means if they strongly believe that someone has commited a crime and they want to write an article on it they have to say if its what they think, if the opinion is formed on...

Audience responses to media

Image
One of the factors that will affect the response is your ethnicity. This film is based heavily on racism so if you are black it might affect you personally or make you think it could happen to you. Another  factor is your personality. If you like Horror movies then you you might not get scared but you will get a sense of enjoyment from the film. However if you don't like horror films then your response will be negative and you'll get scared. If you see the film at the cinema you'll feel safe as there are more people around you so you have protection whereas if you're home alone watching it you feel vulnerable. If you watch the film with friends then you'll feel safer and be less scared. When you see an advert you will have an active or inactive response. An active response will be going to the shop and buying the shoes and getting them online. An inactive response will be to ignore the advert and do nothing about it. Having a dominant response...

Representations of characters

The main female character in the film is represented differently throughout the film. near the of the film she's represented as mentally unstable. This is shown when we see we see the male's point of view. we see that they have never been in a relationship and she's imagined it all. we also see that all her artwork she has done and how creepy it is. she made a figure of the man with cloth and other bits and pieces. we see all her actions from the male's point of view we see how he's becoming extremely stressed because of her actions. In the start of the film she's represented as an innocent and caring art student trying to make a living. we see her in a relationship with a doctor and she's really happy. she sends roses and paintings to him and he likes them. The narrative hides the way she i represented by showing two sides to the story. We see Her side and the males side. When see her side of the story we see her in a relationship with a successful  docto...
